Studying at an overseas university is a dream for many students. However, the costs associated with studying and living abroad means this is unaffordable for many. Every student regardless of their financial circumstances or academic ability hopes to secure a lucrative scholarship. Whilst there are no guarantees of a partial or full scholarship several things can be included in your application to ensure the best chance of success.

Universities are not able to provide every applicant a competitive scholarship. Many overseas universities require students to submit a document detailing the reasons why they merit a scholarship and how they would ‘add value’ to the university.

StudyOverseasNow.com have developed a FREE Scholarship Template which can be downloaded and used when submitting your application. Make sure you invest the necessary time to achieve the best results, speak to an education counsellor for more information!

Before submitting your documents, you should understand the difference between a Scholarship, Student Grant, or similar Bursary scheme. Typically, Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and provided for the duration of study. A Study Grant {or equivalent} is a discount on your tuition fees applied to your first semester, or first year of study only.

Review “What NOT to Include” before structuring your scholarship application and submitting your documents. Its rare universities allow students to amend documents once formally submitted. Follow the advice on this blog as it could save you thousands in tuition fees.
