Documentation Required
The United States base their decision to approve a student visa on criteria set out by the immigration department. Prior to visa lodgement students will need to furnish several documents to ensure the best chance of success. Failing to supply the necessary documents can lead to lengthy delays and a risk of visa rejection. Passport: Valid for the duration of the course.

Identity Card: If applicable

Two Digital & Hard Copy Photos: Height: 51 x 51mm.

Statement of Purpose / Letter of Application: View specifications here.

Academic Transcripts: This should include subject specific marks, final GPA and the university grading scale. Include any backlogs.

English Test: The United States government permits IELTS & TOEFL.

Resume / CV: Provide evidence of work {contract / pay slip}, download template.

Police Clearance Certificate {PCC}: No older than 6 months from date of submission, apply here.

Document any previous visa rejections.

Proof of Funds: Direct access to 12 months maintenance costs and tuition fees.

Proof of Payment: Receipt of payment to the academic institution and SEVIS fee.

Visa Application: Complete online and pay visa fee.

Letter of Acceptance: From an approved SEVP provider.

Form DS-160 & Form I-20: Complete online and bring to interview.

Private Health Insurance: Purchase online or via the education provider, not compulsory but strongly advised.
Student visas can be issued up to 120 days prior to course commencement. However, students cannot enter the United States more than 30 days before their course is scheduled to start.
