Documentation Required
Ireland bases their decision to approve a student visa based on criteria set out by the immigration department. Prior to visa lodgement students will need to furnish several documents to ensure the best chance of success.
Failing to supply the necessary documents can lead to lengthy delays and a risk of visa rejection. For more information about the types of documents permitted book an appointment with an education advisor.

Passport: Valid for the duration of the course.

Two Digital & Hard Copy Photos: Height: 35-38mm x 45-50mm.

Statement of Purpose / Letter of Application: View specifications here.

Academic Transcripts: This should include subject specific marks, final GPA and the universities grading scale. Include any backlogs.

English Test: The Irish government permits the following English tests; IELTS, CELA, Duolingo, ETAPP, TOEFL and PTE. Tests are valid for 2 years.

Resume / CV: Provide evidence of work {contract / pay slip}, download template.

Police Clearance Certificate {PCC}: No older than 6 months from date of submission, apply here.

Previous Visa Rejections: Document any previous visa rejections.

Proof of Funds: Direct access to €7,000 + minimum payment of €6,000 + source of funds for each additional year of study will need to be evidenced.

Proof of Payment: Receipt of payment to the academic institution.

Visa Application: Complete online and pay visa fee, apply here.

“Letter of Acceptance“ from an approved academic institution, view here.

Private Health Insurance: Purchase online or via the education provider.
Student visas can be issued up to 3 months prior to course commencement. Students can enter Ireland once their visa is approved.
